Platelet Concentration and Platelet/Lymphocyte Ratio as Prognostic Indicators in Luminal Breast Cancer

چکیده

Ratios between the blood cells are indirect measures of imbalance in pro-inflammatory status observed carcinogenesis and have been proposed as accessible feasible biomarkers to predict cancer prognosis. We aim evaluate prognostic significance neutrophil/lymphocyte (NLR), monocyte/lymphocyte (MLR), platelet/lymphocyte (PLR) ratios Brazilian patients with luminal breast (LBC) treated tamoxifen. A retrospective cohort 72 operable LBC patients. Preoperative leukocyte platelet absolute values permitted calculate NLR, MLR, PLR. Area under curve (ROC) determined cutoff value associated relapse death. Univariate multivariate analyses were used assess relationship PLR disease-free survival (DFS) overall (OS). Lower DFS was >297 × 103/mm3 (54 vs. 60.9 months <297, p = 0.04). Platelet > 279 related higher OS (p 0.03). analysis revealed that concentration 0.04) 0.04), but not an independent factor (HR 1.31, 95%CI: 0.42–4.07, 0.65) 1.64, 0.28–9.52, 0.58). Both univariate 0.01) < 191.5 a significant predictor OS/better prognosis 16.16, 2.83–109.25, 0.00). Pretreatment indices (absolute count PLR) predictors PRL OS, being OS.

Are neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio and platelet/lymphocyte ratio reliable parameters as prognostic indicators in malignant mesothelioma?

BACKGROUND Malignant mesothelioma (MM) is an aggressive asbestos-related pleural tumor. The incidence is increasing with intensive use of asbestos in developing countries. We need an easily accessible, inexpensive, and reliable method for determining the low survival time prognosis of this tumor. The aim of our study was to investigate the viability of neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and plat...

Computational prognostic indicators for breast cancer

Breast cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related mortality in women. Comprehensive genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics studies are emerging that offer an opportunity to model disease biology, prognosis, and response to specific therapies. Although many biomarkers have been identified through advances in data mining techniques, few have been applied broadly to make patient-specific d...

The Prognostic Significance of the Preoperative Platelet-Lymphocyte Ratio in Japanese Patients with Localized Breast Cancer

Inflammation has been shown to be a factor in tumorigenesis. The circulating platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) is a representative index of systemic inflammation. In this study, we analyzed the association between preoperative PLR levels and clinicopathological variables in two hundred sixty-four Japanese patients with localized breast carcinoma. We also evaluated the prognostic significance o...

Prognostic parameters of luminal A and luminal B intrinsic breast cancer subtypes of Pakistani patients

BACKGROUND Prognosis of breast cancer and success of therapeutic interventions largely rely on the clinico-pathologic and biological characteristics of the tumor and vary due to the heterogeneous nature of breast cancers. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency and prognostic parameters of luminal breast cancers in our population to devise targeted and personalized therapeutic regi...

Prognostic role of platelet–lymphocyte ratio in colorectal cancer

Many studies have been reported that platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) may be associated with the prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC), but the results are inconsistent. Current opinion on the prognostic role of the PLR in CRC is inconsistent and inconclusive. Therefore, we conduct a meta-analysis that combines these studies and to identify the prognostic value of PLR in patients with CRC. Data w...
